願主裂天而降（賽64章）

願你裂天而降、願山在你面前震動、好像火燒乾柴、又像火將水燒開．使你敵人知道你的名、使列國在你面前發顫。你曾行我們不能逆料可畏的事．那時你降臨、山嶺在你面前震動。（賽 64：1-3）

本章一開頭就是一幅震撼人的畫面：神裂天而降！在讀此段經文時，似乎可以看見天空突然發出巨大的爆裂聲，然後天裂開了，並從逐漸變大的裂縫中，發出耀眼強光，主耶穌與天上的眾軍隊從中聲勢浩大地衝出來。

這一幕，如同啟示錄的第一章開場：

看哪、他駕雲降臨．眾目要看見他、連刺他的人也要看見他．地上的萬族都要因他哀哭。這話是真實的。阿們。（啟 1：7）

主耶穌再臨，對絕大多數的人而言不是喜悅，而是恐懼戰兢。如以賽亞書64章所說的：「使你敵人知道你的名、使列國在你面前發顫」，「那時你降臨、山嶺在你面前震動」。又如啟示錄第1章這裡的：「地上的萬族都要因他哀哭」。

做壞事的人，最怕突然聽見警車的警笛聲，因為「警察來了！」；作學生的最怕聽到「老師來了！」；問題學生最怕聽到「組長來了！」。因此，當主耶穌再臨時，我是那預備好歡喜迎接的人，還是恐懼戰兢，甚至哀哭的另一群人？

以賽亞先知本章極力向神呼求，並願意主從天裂天降臨，讓公義掌權，但是神的選民們卻仍舊在不義之中。以賽亞，這位將自己與選民圈在一起的先知，替百姓向神悔改、懇求，因為他似乎已看見神來了。神來了會沒事嗎？當然有事！也就是要來審判萬民。審判之後，有人要進入天國永生，有人要進入地獄接受永刑。

你迎接那歡喜行義記念你道的人。你曾發怒、我們仍犯罪．這景況已久．我們還能得救麼？我們都像不潔淨的人、所有的義都像污穢的衣服．我們都像葉子漸漸枯乾．我們的罪孽好像風把我們吹去．（賽 64：5-6）

世人都不希望有世界末日，因為就像「老師來了」一樣，也是被壞學生所不期待的。被老師發現在作惡的學生，就會接受一定的處罰，不會好過的。時時儆醒，保守聖潔，殷勤作主工，才能安然等候主來。

誰是忠心有見識的僕人、為主人所派、管理家裏的人、按時分糧給他們呢？主人來到、看見他這樣行、那僕人就有福了。（太 24：45-46）

今天身為神所命定的守望者，我們要時時為群羊儆醒，像以賽亞先知一樣，爲選民代求。耶和華阿、求你不要大發震怒、也不要永遠記念罪孽．求你垂顧我們、我們都是你的百姓。（賽 64：9）。

世界末日接近了，天災、人禍與戰亂，都像警笛一樣在提醒著我們：主將要裂天降臨了，我準備好了嗎？

他又對我說、不可封了這書上的預言．因為日期近了。不義的、叫他仍舊不義．污穢的、叫他仍舊污穢．為義的、叫他仍舊為義．聖潔的、叫他仍舊聖潔。看哪、我必快來．賞罰在我、要照各人所行的報應他。（啟 22：10-12）

The Lord Would Tear Open the Heavens and Come Down (Isaiah 64)

Oh, that You would tear open the heavens and come down, That the mountains would quake at Your presence—

As fire kindles brushwood, as fire causes water to boil— To make Your name known to Your adversaries, That the nations may tremble at Your presence!

When You did awesome things which we did not expect, You came down; the mountains quaked at Your presence.

This chapter opens with a dangerous scene: God tears open the heavens and comes down!

As we read these verses, it is almost as if we can see the sky suddenly bursting open with a mighty roar. The heavens are split apart, and from the widening opening comes a bright light. The Lord Jesus, together with the armies of heaven, appears in majestic power.

This scene resembles the opening vision of Revelation:

Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen.

For most people, the second coming of the Lord Jesus will not be a moment of joy, but one of fear and trembling. As Isaiah 64 says:

“To make Your name known to Your adversaries, that the nations may tremble at Your presence.”

and “You came down; the mountains quaked at Your presence.”

Like Revelation 1 declares:

“All the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him.”

Those who do wrong fear the sudden sound of a police siren because “the police are coming.” Students fear hearing, “The teacher is coming.” Troublemakers fear hearing, “The leader is coming.Therefore, when the Lord Jesus returns, will I be among those who joyfully welcome Him, or among those who tremble in fear and mourn?

In this chapter, the prophet Isaiah earnestly cries out to God, longing for Him to come down from heaven and establish righteousness. Yet God's chosen people were still living in unrighteousness. Isaiah, a prophet who identified himself with the people, repented and pleaded with God on their behalf, because he seemed already to see the Lord coming.Will nothing happen when God comes? Certainly not. He comes to judge all people. After the judgment, some will enter the eternal kingdom of heaven, while others will enter hell to receive eternal punishment.

You meet him who rejoices in doing righteousness,

Who remembers You in Your ways.Behold, You were angry, for we sinned,We continued in them a long time; And shall we be saved?

For all of us have become like one who is unclean,

And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment;

And all of us wither like a leaf, And our wrongdoings, like the wind, take us away.

(Isaiah 64:5–6, NASB 2020)

People generally do not wish for the end of the world to come, just as bad students do not welcome the arrival of the teacher. When wrongdoing is exposed, punishment follows.

Only by remaining watchful, preserving holiness, and diligently laboring in the Lord's work can we peacefully await His coming.

Who then is the faithful and sensible slave whom his master put in charge of his household slaves, to give them their food at the proper time? Blessed is that slave whom his master finds so doing when he comes.

Today, as watchmen appointed by God, we must stay alert for the flock and intercede for God's people, just as Isaiah did.

Do not be furious, LORD, nor remember wrongdoing forever; behold, please look, all of us are Your people.

(Isaiah 64:9, NASB 2020)

The end of the world is drawing near. Natural disasters, human calamities, and wars are like warning sirens reminding us that the Lord is about to tear open the heavens and come down. Am I ready?

And he said to me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near. Let the one who does wrong still do wrong; and let the filthy still be filthy; and let the one who is righteous still practice righteousness; and the one who is holy still keep himself holy. Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to reward each one as his work deserves.”
