Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch out the curtains of your dwellings, do not spare them (Isaiah 54
June 15, 2026
“Enlarge the place of your tent; Stretch out the curtains of your dwellings, do not spare them; Lengthen your ropes And strengthen your pegs. “For you will spread out to the right and to the left. And your descendants will possess nations And will resettle the desolate cities.” (Isaiah 54:2-3 NASB2020)
This chapter prophesies the church in the end times, including the apostolic church and the True Jesus Church, especially referring to the True Jesus Church. From the first verse, "Shout for joy, infertile one, you who have not given birth to any child; Break forth into joyful shouting and cry aloud, you who have not been in labor; For the sons of the desolate one will be more numerous Than the sons of the married woman,” says the Lord.” (Isaiah 54:1 NASB2020)
Fertility, birth, and labor are natural processes that increase population. However, this chapter refers to the church in the end times, where the increase in population is not due to natural factors, but to God's will. The "children" here specifically refer to God's children, born of the gospel, not of human logic, and completely transcending ordinary conditions.
“Then he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel, saying, ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of armies.”
(Zechariah 4:6 NASB2020)
Just as Paul, though unmarried, wrote, “Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus according to the commandment of God our Savior, and of Christ Jesus, who is our hope, To Timothy, my true son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.” (1 Timothy 1:1-2 NASB2020) Here Paul calls Timothy his "true son" because he is born of the gospel; this is what Isaiah is referring to here.
According to this prophecy, the True Church in the last days will surely prosper! Because the number will increase dramatically, so much so that we can only “enlarge the place of your tent, stretch out the curtains of your dwellings, do not spare them,” meaning the church chapel will be overflowing. Therefore, Isaiah chapter 2 says: “Now it will come about that In the last days The mountain of the house of the Lord Will be established as the chief of the mountains, And will be raised above the hills; And all the nations will stream to it. And many peoples will come and say, “Come, let’s go up to the mountain of the Lord, To the house of the God of Jacob; So that He may teach us about His ways, And that we may walk in His paths.” For the law will go out from Zion And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.” (Isaiah 2:2-3 NASB2020)
Today, we are getting closer and closer to the fulfillment of this prophecy, which will be realized in the True Jesus Church. At that time, the number will increase dramatically, but are we ready? Here reminds us: “Lengthen your ropes And strengthen your pegs. “For you will spread out to the right and to the left.”
First, lengthen your ropes: This reminds us not to limit ourselves, but to bravely go out and boldly preach the gospel, spreading it wherever we go. Lengthening the rope means using the original rope, not replacing it with other materials. Therefore, as long as we uphold the integrity of the sound doctrine, we shouldn't be afraid to speak the same old things; but rather keep lengthening it and speaking the truth.
Second, strengthen your pegs: Pegs are like the nails of a tent, used to secure it. Similarly, they refer to "truth," which, like the five doctrines, is the foundation of the True Jesus Church. Therefore, no matter how long the rope is, these pegs of truth must remain steadfast, ensuring the tent stands strong. We must not drift with the tide or arbitrarily change doctrines according to worldly trends.
Third, spread out to the right and to the left: This still means spreading the gospel widely. See where in this world the gospel has not yet reached. Currently, there are 195 countries in the world, but only 74 of them have churches established by the True Jesus Church. The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. stop.
Today, as disciples of the Lord of the True Jesus Church, we must be strong and courageous, for God has promised to help us. He says, “For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, But My favor will not be removed from you, Nor will My covenant of peace be shaken,” Says the Lord who has compassion on you.” (Isaiah 54:10 NASB2020)
We also need not fear facing any forces hostile to the True Jesus Church in the last days, for God will be with us. His promise is:
““Behold, I Myself have created the smith who blows on the fire of coals And produces a weapon for its work; And I have created the destroyer to inflict ruin. “No weapon that is formed against you will succeed; And you will condemn every tongue that accuses you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their vindication is from Me,” declares the Lord.” (Isaiah 54:16-17 NASB2020)
