Entering the Stone Cut Without Human Hands (Dan 2)
October 12, 2026
“And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, and that kingdom will not be left for another people; it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, but it will itself endure forever.” (Dan 2:44)
In this chapter of Daniel, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon dreamed of a great statue. Most of the prophecy concerning this statue has now been fulfilled:
The head of fine gold: God revealed to Daniel that the head of gold represented the Babylonian Empire at that time. It was the strongest empire, far more powerful than the great nations of the world today.
“You, O king, are the king of kings, to whom the God of heaven has given the kingdom, the power, the strength and the glory; and wherever the sons of men dwell, or the animals of the field or the birds of the sky, He has given them into your hand and has caused you to rule over them all. You are the head of gold.” (Dan 2:37–38)
The chest and arms of silver: These refer to the Medes and the Persian Empire that rose afterward. Cyrus, king of Persia, was the foreign king who ordered the Israelites to return and rebuild the temple.
The belly and thighs of bronze:This refers to the kingdom that would rule over the whole earth. It was the Greek Empire ruled by Alexander the Great.
The legs of iron:
There are two legs, representing the Roman Empire after it was divided into the Eastern and Western Roman Empires. It remained a world power, but its strength was no longer comparable to that of the previous empires.
The feet partly of iron and partly of clay: The feet include ten toes, representing the nations of the world today. The “iron” represents strong nations, while the “clay” represents weaker nations, just as we see in the world today.
A stone cut out without human hands: This represents the coming of Jesus Christ and the church He established, including the early apostolic church and the True Jesus Church today. After the gospel has been preached throughout the world and the end has come, all the Lord’s sheep will have returned to the fold, and all Israel will be saved. No one else will receive the gospel, be saved, or receive the Holy Spirit. The mission of this world will then be completed, and God will destroy it.
“You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.” (Matt 24:6–8)
“This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.” (Matt 24:14)
At present, only the part concerning “a stone cut out without human hands” has not yet been completely fulfilled, because the Lord has not yet descended from heaven and the world has not yet been destroyed. However, according to the present situation, the prophecy once given by the Lord Jesus has now reached the stage of “the beginning of birth pangs.” Therefore, the church must urgently preach the gospel. Before this happens, the Lord’s sheep who have not yet returned to the fold will become fewer and fewer, until perhaps only “the Lord’s sheep born from the Lord’s sheep” remain. When the gospel has been preached throughout the world, the end will come. When the Lord returns from heaven, the nations of the world will be crushed.
This stone cut out without human hands has established churches throughout the world. “Cut out without human hands” means a kingdom or church that is not established by human will. The True Jesus Church was established by the Holy Spirit in 1917 and was brought to Taiwan in 1926. Remarkably, three churches were established within three months because the church was established through the work of the Holy Spirit.
This world began because of God’s plan of salvation, and it will end when His plan of salvation is fulfilled. Everything in the world turns around God’s salvation. Do we rely on the nations of this world built by human hands? Do we continue to look to the head of gold, the chest of silver, the waist of bronze, and the legs of iron? Or will we rely on “the stone cut out without human hands,” the stone that will crush the statue of the head of gold, that is, will we be saved and enter eternal life through the True Jesus Church?
This statue with its head of gold represents human history. It has stood throughout the world for three thousand years, transcending time and space, yet it is about to be crushed. Will you continue to rely on it? Or will you quickly examine the truth of the Bible and investigate that stone which is about to crush the world, so that you may have a share in this “stone cut out without human hands” and not be crushed together with the world?
Jesus said, “Have you never read in the Scriptures, ‘The stone which the builders rejected, this became the chief cornerstone; this came about from the Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes’? Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people producing the fruit of it. And the one who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; and on whomever it falls, it will crush him.” (Matt 21:42–44)
